Arsenal Away Kit Concept

At this point I think it’s pretty obvious that I’m an Arsenal fan…

Three things are certain in life; death, taxes, and me taking personal offence when an Arsenal away kit isn’t yellow with blue accents.

There’s no finer sight than Aaron Ramsey in the 2013/14 Arsenal away shirt…

I miss both him and the shirt. I love the bruised banana kit Arsenal are currently underperforming in but for obvious reasons, that can’t stick around.

With that, I thought I’d take inspiration from both the 13/14 kit and the 1971 away kit, worn by Charlie George when he scored the winning goal against Liverpool to win the FA Cup.

The badge on the latter shirt was simply a blue cannon, which I decided to use for the pattern on my away shirt.

Too many blue cannons would be obtrusive though, so I teamed them with mostly yellow cannons and at that point it seemed rude not to include a couple of red ones.

Here’s what I came up with…

I mentioned in one of my other posts that I’m not a huge fan of kits with collars, but I have to say that I think this one works.

The pattern doesn’t extend to the sleeves and only features coloured cannons fairly sparingly.

I considered a more muted yellow shirt at first, without the blue collar which you can see below, but eventually decided upon the one you’ve just seen.
