You best believe that this one was a request.
I won’t go into too much detail here because, well, because it’s Chelsea.
Having said that, I’m actually frustratingly fond of this current Chelsea setup, with Lampard and all those kids but as an Arsenal fan I feel I have a moral obligation that have a strong element of distaste towards them.
Nonetheless, I was asked to make a Chelsea kit and since I’m a big fan of the strip they wore in their recent FA Cup game, but not at all a fan of their usual kit for the season, I thought I’d go down a more classic route.
Here’s what I made…
I’ve thought ahead here, with the sponsor they’ll be using next season, despite it being a bit of an eyesore.
As you can see, I’ve gone down the Chelsea lion route, but rather than paste them all over the place like the kit they had a few seasons back, I’ve made them out of equal-sized lines, using the opposing shades of blue.
There’s also a hem label on the sleeve, with the rose and ball that can be seen on the crest.
I do like that lion.
